I'm a creative problem solver. Whether its a brochure, logo, food or beverage package, or label—great design presents your information in an unexpected way with a clear and compelling visual message. With over 25 years of experience in branding and design, working on all sorts of products, I enjoy thinking outside of the box to create visually memorable brands.

I have a thorough understanding of the many processes involved in print and production. So what you see in concept is what you get in your end product, only better. I work closely with suppliers to ensure that things go smoothly and we use current technologies in the best combinations to achieve our end goal in a cost-effective manner.

Depending on the needs and size of the project, I pull the right people in from my extensive network of professionals when needed. This allows me to take on jobs of all sizes without the high overhead of a large agency.

Once we've connected I'll have you fill out a design questionnaire, which will give me the information I need to create a quote for your project. Depending on where you are located, we can meet in person or talk on the phone to clear up any questions and make sure we are a good fit. Then I create and present a design brief to ensure a shared understanding and success on the project.

All kinds of business to consumer products and services companies, from start-ups to established brands. Need a new unforgettable brand, packaging, or marketing materials? Have a brand that needs a refresh, a new food, beverage, or consumer product that needs packaging, or updated marketing materials? Contact me and we can talk about it.

It's important to keep your branding and messaging consistent across everything you do.

For print design, the size of the printing surface is one of the biggest determiners of how the space will be used — what design elements will be used, the amount and size of the text, etc. It's like putting together a visual communication puzzle that clearly and compellingly conveys your message to your targeted audience.

Though there are standard sizes for many projects, possibilities are virtually unlimited, with paper choices and printing and finishing techniques constantly changing. Whether it's an ad, brochure, rack card, book—anything that gets printed—I can help by giving you a piece that gets you noticed.

logos & branding.

Image is everything and it all starts with your logo. Is it time to give your existing logo a refresh? Do you need a new logo with concepts from scratch? Maybe you want a logo and a complete visual guideline for your brand—including a design brief with multiple file formats, a color scheme, fonts, photography styles, business cards, letterhead, email signature, and concepts for your logo on apparel and other items. From the simple to the complex, I can help make sure that your logo is giving you the right image.

wine & spirits.

Consumers are influenced by packaging in the wine, beer, and spirits category more than any other. A great label can sell your first bottle, after that it's up to your winemaker, brewer, or distiller, so it's vital that your packaging reflects your brand. Regulations, paper stock, bottling machine limitations, printing processes, embellishment techniques, and bottle shape all have a major impact in this category. It's necessary that designers have an understanding of all these things plus strong communication skills to help you get through the label approval process and work collaboratively with printers.

One thing I have that most other designers don't, is a complete understanding of the bottling process. We own a mobile bottling business and I have spent hours working on that line and have a very thorough understanding of the process and what works and what doesn't, so you end up with a great looking package and a headache-free bottling day. It also gives me the opportunity try things out when I have an idea that is a little out of the ordinary. A perfect example can be seen in this short video.

Great packaging sells product and great package design is problem solving at it's best. You've got information that has to be included, sometimes with legal size restrictions, and limited space to put it in. Depending on the printing process or materials being used, there may be restrictions that need to be taken into consideration. A designer needs to understand all of these things and still be able to create a compelling package that grabs the consumer's attention and communicates your message in just a few seconds. It's not easy, and it's not something that every designer can do—but it's something that I am passionate about.

A lot of small businesses need a website that they can easily edit themselves. Or a website that is pretty simple but has a lot of neat features. That's where I can help. I don't code and I'm not a developer—but I know good design and how to get your message across in a way that makes sense and is easy to navigate. If that's what you want, then let's talk about how I can help give you a great website.
