Fauquier (Fawk•eer) County in Virginia is a place where agriculture and business coexist. We were tasked with creating a new logo and tagline that would communicate much of what the county has to offer to businesses considering locating within the county.

BACKGROUND

The old logo and tagline no longer represented all that the county offers to businesses looking to locate there.

DESIGN THINKING

The county is rooted in Civil War history and is home to many agricultural and manufacturing businesses, large and small. With wide open spaces, easy access to major transportation arteries, several smaller towns, and excellent public school system, there is a quality of life here that is attractive to businesses and their employees. Only sixty miles from Washington, D.C.—yet it feels a world away. It's a county where you can breathe and experience a slower pace of life. These are the things we wanted to portray in the new identity and tagline.

VISUAL INFLUENCES

The historic courthouse building in the town of Warrenton, farms, and industry were all part of our influence.

CHALLENGES

The challenge lay in how to combine the idea of infrastructure to support businesses and the more idyllic lifestyle and scenery that the county offers to its residents. We did this through a visual representation of these ideas and a tagline that brings it all together.
